Foreign citizens who have a standard visa or who are subject to a visa-free regime for entry, stay and exit from the Republic of Tajikistan are required to register with the internal affairs or foreign affairs bodies of the Republic of Tajikistan (only for employees of diplomatic services) within 10 (ten) working days, with the exception of citizens of countries that are exempted from registration for a certain period of time under relevant agreements.

According to the bilateral and multilateral agreement of the Republic of Tajikistan there is the entry and exit without visa with special passports such as:

In order to increase the level of investment and the tourist appeal of the republic to the citizens of some foreign countries provided a simplified procedure for the entry, stay and movement of foreigners in the country.

Citizens of 126 countries are eligible to apply for a simplified visa procedure in all visa categories. The list of the aforementioned countries was approved by the Decree #31 of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on January 25th, 2017.

Foreign citizens who have a standard visa or can enter Tajikistan without visa must register at the Ministry of Interior during 10 working days after their arrival. Diplomatic staff must register at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Electronic Visa Application System

Portal for issuance of electronic visas “e-Visa”, (https://www.evisa.tj) which enables foreign citizens willing to enter the country with tourist or business visas to complete the electronic application and receive the electronic visa without visiting consulate representatives of Tajikistan abroad, commences its operation.

The electronic visa system «e-Visa» will allow foreign citizens to receive Tajikistan visa online, relieving them from necessity to stand in queues in Tajikistan consulates or at the border. The new system is designed to facilitate the process of obtaining a visa to Tajikistan by foreign citizens, increase the number of tourists visiting Tajikistan, as well as to simplify visa procedures for businessmen. We also want to save time and relieve the personnel involved in the process of issuing visas.
